About us Yao Yai Resort is started in 2001 by Pioneers from Europe with a lot of experience from Higher Hotel School The Haque in Koh Yao Yai and had the first choice to choose the best beach ( Loh Pared Beach) This beach is virtually impossible to describe, you have to be on it to see its magic, the Magic of the Nature. Two times in the year( April and November) the sea water gives of light in the night, and If you go in to the sea water it looks like as if all the stars are in the water, it is just magical. And at afternoons we have the best Sunset over Phuket right in front of the Resort This is also the only Beach where you can swim safely for 24 hours a day, that is also the reason we do not need a swimming pool ( We just have the biggest and most natural swimming pool in just in front of us) We have constructed the resort only with natural materials with respect for the nature, and used cement only because we had no other choice. In 2009/2010 all our Bungalows are renovated to make your stay with us more comfortable. They are for 80% from wood to give you the feeling you are sleeping on the beach counting the waves to fall asleep. All the bungalows are in a beautiful garden with flowers ,trees and a perfect white beach for about 1.5 km long, that you can have almost for yourself. Early in the morning we have a monkey family( Papa, Mama and 2 kids) that like to come and collect some Papayas for their breakfast. We have always hundreds of butterflies in the Resort in different sizes and in 2009 also 2 Dolphins with a little baby dolphin came to visit us. This place is the best place to get away from your stress, we always say; stay 6 night with us and you do not need a Doctor, just enjoy the view, good food, massage and the smiles from the friendly Locals. We have an unfinished Pier which is 300 meters away from us which you can only use to do some fishing. We have three different kind of Bungalows for different budgets, whatever your choice of bungalow is, you can be sure that you will have always the sea view and the beach is not further away than 30 meter. The Island is still untouched by mass tourism and those who visited the island are describing it as the last Gem in Thailand. We are working closely with locals only and thanks to Yao Yai Resort they have now a job and can make a living outside the Farming work they did for generations before us. Here they can speak English now and always learning new skills and love to see new people on the Island. We have the best Thai food around and seafood directly from the fishers boot, we have our own bakery, delicious Mediterranean Cuisine and a good choice of Wines. Our regular Customers are from Sailing Yachts and even Bill Gates parked his Yacht in front of us. The Koh Yao Yai has a population of around 9000 people and they make their living from Rubber, Fishing, Cashew and Coconuts, where Stress is unknown. There is a main road from North to South and is 50 km long with litle car trafic. Once on it you will see many views of the Islands in Phang Nga Bay and you will come across friendly locals with their children waiving when you pas by. The Tourism on the island is slowly developing , there is a good Ferry connection to Phuketand Krabi year round and Phi Phi Islands ( only High Season). There are only Locall shops, 2 ATM's , 1 modern Hospital, 2 policemen , Sorry we have No shopping Malls and Bars on the island. For 9 months of the year we have a perfect garden, beach (loh Pared), perfect weather, clear sea water perfectly suited for swimming 24h a day. Do keep in mind the islands do have their low season too,which starts in august and last for 3 months,, this brings about some natural untidiness to the beach and the surrounding forests. For example; one day you have a clear and tidy beach and nicely tidy gardens then the next day the whole beach is filled with debris that the sea brings and gardens full of fallen leaves and flowers (which has its own natural beauty), if you understand the nature then there is nothing wrong about this.
